A lovely little village, full of charming corners that look like they belong in a picture frame. They put on several well-served events in summer, and there’s a market in winter. It’s a bit of mountain poetry ❤️🫶

Medicina is a little gem, like the other Castella in the Pesciarina Switzerland. For someone like me who lives in a hellish city, its fresh, clean air and narrow lanes are a real relief for the ears, nose, and especially the eyes. The lanes are lovely to wander. The road there is a little narrow, but it’s absolutely worth the drive.

Valleriana is a small village in the group of ten medieval Castella known as Svizzera Pesciatina. There’s a club and a few agritourism places, and the local produce includes chestnuts, chestnut flour, honey, and sheep’s and goat’s cheeses. To get there you have to take a narrow road, and sometimes you need to find a spot to pull over when cars coming the other way get stuck.
