Villa Antica Colonia

I booked the "Apartment Giuseppe" directly through the website well in advance because I needed it for a very important occasion, my proposal. I wanted that specific apartment because of its lovely, large terrace facing the lake. Three weeks before the stay, I was told it had been double booked and was no longer available. That was stressful enough, but they didn’t offer a meaningful alternative or make a real effort to fix it. I asked whether they could restore the booking or help find a comparable option, and got no reply. Cancelling so close to an important date was bad, but the silence and lack of effort to put things right were the most disappointing part. I wouldn’t trust them with an important booking. The customer service was appalling.

Watching the terrace glow in the sunset, with Lake Orta stretching out below, was hard to beat. My wife and I loved staying in this atmospheric old building. It’s been renovated with real care, while keeping its old-world elegance. Monica made the place feel special with her warm hospitality, and the whole stay is one we’ll remember.

A peaceful, beautiful little corner of Italy that just makes you smile. Villa Antica Colonia has a historic feel alongside modern touches. We loved it, and it’s the kind of place that stays with you.

Yolanda looked after us when we ordered drinks, always with a lovely smile, and Monica was a gracious, helpful host throughout our stay and with advice about the Lake Orta area. Villa Antica Colonia was a wonderful place to call home for a few days. The spa services were lovely too, and Denise is very skilled at massage.
