We liked the place and the rooms were nice, but it was badly managed. They overbooked and made us leave early. That's a management issue, not something customers should have to deal with.

What stayed with us most was how kind and helpful the family who own Sant' Agata were. They kept my husband's insulin in their fridge and brought it to us twice a day. When he got tired of driving those winding roads, they found us a wonderful driver, Giovanni Di Giorgio. We loved the setting too. The buildings sit among flowering shrubs with mountain views, and the pool was a real bonus in this area. Wi-fi worked well everywhere. There was no TV in our room, which suited us fine since we wanted to relax by the pool and explore, not watch CNN or Sky News. The food was delicious, simple, and made with fresh local ingredients. We chose the hotel because it was near my grandmother's birth town and had a swimming pool. We like to unwind but also explore, and the hills were just the quieter location we wanted, away from the well beaten track. We stayed nine days, visiting towns around the region and fabulous Bagheria, then spent three days in Palermo. We were sad to leave. If you're after the ordinary and predictable, this part of Sicily may not be for you. For a real Sicilian country house stay, Agriturismo Sant'Agata is a lovely choice.

We stayed this summer, and the food was the best we had on our whole trip around Italy. The young guy, whose name I can't remember, made the best Bolognese I've ever had. Everyone on staff was so lovely, and we'll definitely return. It's a family run b+b, and our room was huge. The website photos don't really show how nice the place is. This review is long overdue.

We left early on a Sunday and probably lost €880 euros. The owners didn't speak another language, and the people who did were mostly gone. Honestly, I can't recommend going there. The place is extremely quiet. That might suit someone looking for peace, but I found it lonely. There's no TV or other amusement, no pleasant feel to the place, and no restaurants or supermarkets nearby. Breakfast was monotonous, the same every day, and the food was really bad, also much the same day after day. I had diarrhea the whole time. The roads to this "farm hotel" were so rough that without extra full insurance covering damage to wheels, tires, chassis, or car paint, the rental company may bill you. I wish I'd known all the roads there were that bad. I would never recommend traveling to this place at any time of year.

The owners and staff were super friendly and made us feel welcome. They cooked a delicious meal, with lots of local ingredients and dishes. We stayed here in June while walking the Magna Via Francigena. The room was large and comfortable, and the shower was very good.
