Piano de Sorrento suited us well. There’s a supermarket down the road, several lovely restaurants in town, and the marina is an easy walk. Gargiulo Suites is also only two minutes from the station, with trains to Sorrento, Pompei and Naples. They stop running at 10pm, though, so we couldn’t stay out too late in Sorrento. It was nice to return to Piano and get away from the touristy area. Our room was spacious, and the place has an old Italian character with modernised rooms. We felt safe, and the staff were easy to reach and quick to answer when we wanted suggestions for places to go. At first we found the property hard to locate, but the lady was welcoming and guided us from the gates over WhatsApp. The grounds could use more attention. There weren’t many different sun loungers, which made it hard to spend a relaxing day by the pool. Breakfast was room service, which we hadn’t realised from the photos, since they made it look as if there were a restaurant on site. The family does have a restaurant, but it’s a short drive away. Breakfast choices were limited and it was sometimes cold. My boyfriend and I stayed at Gargiulo Suites at the end of July.

We got into Naples late and then made our way to Sorrento. The Team responded quickly even to late texts, and sent a clear video to show us how to check ourselves in. Breakfast was simple and delicious, brought to our lovely room. The balcony looked out over the gardens and towards the mountainside. We really enjoyed staying at the Gargiulo Suites. Thanks, Team Gargiulo, great work!

It was lovely to have somewhere quiet to relax, while still being outside and close to the center of Piano. Our clean, comfortable room was a good place to unwind. There is a swimming pool, though a few details could be better. The breakfast was disappointing, with limited choice and poor quality, but the room service arrived right on time.

The pool is spacious and calm, with a few shady spots, and the hotel itself is very quiet. Rooms were clean and we got a warm welcome. You can walk to both Piano’s charming center and the train station. There’s no restaurant or bar at the hotel; breakfast can be brought to your room if you ask. It makes a great base, and I’d definitely come back.
