Podere Spedalone

We only stayed one night and wished we'd booked three. This was the standout part of our whole Italy trip. Tamara, Adela, and the dinner and breakfast chefs made us feel welcome from the minute we arrived. The property is sprawling and lovely to explore, with lots of room to run. It's easy to get to Montepulciano and Pienza, and it was nice meeting so many other travelers. Our room was quaint, clean, beautiful, and unique, with comfortable beds, lots of pillows, nice linens, fresh air, and animal sounds outside. Breakfast was incredible, especially the eggs, the most beautiful we've ever eaten! The pool looked lovely, though we didn't use it. We chose the farm table dinner, one of our best experiences on the trip. The aperitivo was gorgeous and welcoming, my favorite part. We tasted the estate's olive oil and bought a bottle. We skipped the truffle and cooking classes, but I wish we'd stayed longer to try both. My only feedback is that the showers could be more modern.

We hope we can visit again someday. The staff made us feel so welcome, especially Adela and the evening host John Peter, who went out of their way for us. We loved the sunsets and delicious dinners, and the beautiful setting made everything feel magical. The team also did a lovely job bringing together guests from different countries, especially for the aperitivo at sunset.

The dinner format was interesting and turned out to be surprisingly wonderful. We had such a nice time, with amazing scenery and uniquely colored sunsets in mid-September. Tamara welcomed us and made sure we had what we needed. The activity team were attentive, and the kitchen staff were amazing. Everyone was friendly and welcoming.

The scenery is beautiful, and the traditional rooms are charming, but it's the people who make Agriturismo Podere Spedalone so memorable. The staff welcomed us warmly, kept smiling, and made sure we felt part of a family in a shared home that everyone cares for. We especially enjoyed the homemade Tuscan dinners, served with local wines in a relaxed communal setting. Breakfast was just as delightful. The location is convenient for Pienza, Montepulciano, and the Val d’Orcia, while the property itself feels peaceful and welcoming. We left feeling at home and are already looking forward to returning. Highly recommended if you want a real sense of home and family during a stay in Tuscany.
