The apartment was bright, beautiful, and spacious, with a view of the garden as a nice extra. The location is right in the center, just a few steps from the heart of the old town. Pienza is also a great base for getting to Montalcino, Montepulciano, and plenty of other lovely spots in Tuscany. We had a wonderful stay at Il Giardino Segreto, and Cinzia was incredibly helpful, available on WhatsApp even in the evenings whenever we needed help sorting something out.

Relais Il Chiostro Di Pienza were friendly and helpful, and Pienza itself is beautiful, but that was the bright spot in an otherwise awful stay. We arrived at 8pm and contacted the owner, who replied with extremely rude, aggressive messages saying we should have been in touch before check-in. Agoda described it as contactless check-in, which normally suggests there isn't a fixed arrival time, but the owner said that wasn't true and refused to let us in. We had to find somewhere else in an unfamiliar town with all our luggage. We contacted the owner the next day to try checking in during the stated 4pm-7pm hours. They said they couldn't come because they had things to do. In all my years of travelling, I haven't experienced a more appalling or unprofessional way of treating paying customers.

The owner gave us superb service, and the place is right in the city. Our room was clean and suited a family, with a coffee machine in it. We had a great stay in Pienza and would highly recommend it.

The house and its garden are both beautiful, and it's right in the center. It was clean and the host was friendly. For me it's 4.8 stars, since breakfast could earn that fifth star if fresh panini were available.

The location is great and the value for money is okay. Breakfast was very basic, just sweet Italian snacks, nothing special. If all you need is somewhere to sleep, this is fine.
