The view was beautiful, and the staff were super quick. The rooms are comfortable and quiet.

The rooms, breakfast, staff, and hotel were all nice. What disappointed me was the booking arrangement: we were told a triple room couldn't be reserved, so we booked two separate rooms. When we arrived, one of the two rooms we were given turned out to be a triple after all. They then said we couldn't cancel the second room.

The rooms were nice and the Jolly Roger hotel has an interesting concept, but I can't recommend it after our stay. Rest was difficult: one side of the building faces a busy road, and the other is beside train tracks. The staff seemed friendly, though their manner felt overly artificial. We were given the wrong room card. After going up to the rooftop for a drink, we couldn't get back into our room. It was after 10:00 PM, and reception was empty with no emergency contact information. The only number we had was for reception, where nobody was answering. Fortunately, my husband found another number on Instagram and we got help right away. It left me wondering what we would have done without a phone or if we hadn't found that number. We could have been stuck in the lobby with our two dogs. Nobody apologized for the mix-up, even though it was clear we'd received two different cards. The next morning we asked for a later checkout and got only 30 extra minutes, until 11:30 AM. We were at the door with our luggage and dogs when the phone rang at 11:31, telling us to leave. That felt very inappropriate and impolite. Breakfast was just okay, eggs were in short supply, and having to ask for particular food from behind a glass barrier was uncomfortable. After all that, I don't think the hotel deserves a 3-star rating. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves the service and comfort for guests.

The staff were genuinely helpful and friendly. I was frustrated when I first arrived, but by the time we left, I wished we could stay longer. Beatrice at the front desk was especially helpful, as was the gentleman who checked me in. It felt like a family-run place even though the hotel is part of a chain, and we felt at home. We'll undoubtedly return. This was just what I needed: simple, very clean, and close to the beach. My dog Poochie was welcomed and treated well. Our bright white room had a small fridge, which was great for cold drinks, and nice body soap in the bathroom. They even offered a sample of dog food with the option to buy more. It was expensive, but a thoughtful touch that Poochie appreciated. Parking was about a block away and tricky to reach, even with a map, because local construction had blocked some streets. That's a minor issue, and I could unload bags outside the hotel before checking in and sorting out the parking. The location comes with some noise. Along this stretch of coast, the seaside hotels sit by a busy road, with train tracks on the other side. Still, the noise wasn't excessive, and after full days walking the dog, going to the beach, and heading out for dinner, we stopped noticing it. If you want quiet countryside, go to the country. This is a busy, loud, crowded Italian beach, especially in peak summer. Popular restaurants fill up days ahead, though the hotel can suggest places and help with reservations. It also has a rooftop restaurant, which I didn't try. Breakfast had enough variety for me, with savory food, sweet things, fresh fruit, and delicious coffee. It was impressive that almost everything, if not everything, seemed to be made in house. The closest dog beach is Bagni Leonessa. Two chairs and an umbrella cost 23 euro per day, with no half-day option. That was a nice bit of luxury, but I'll say more about it in another review.
