Le Jardin de Sophie

We stayed at five hotels and villas around Northern Italy recently, and Albergo Pietrasanta was easily our favorite. The room felt comfortable, elegant, almost magical, and the staff made us feel both like family and royalty. Everyone did their best to make the visit special. We highly recommend the Albergo and the lovely little comune of Pietrasanta.

The rooms were nicely arranged and felt luxurious, and the shaded garden was lovely. I especially enjoyed the breakfast greenhouse, with its generous spread, and the original art throughout the tastefully decorated hotel. There are beautiful places to lounge, too. The staff were professional, warm, and helpful. Staying here felt like being in a spacious private home. It’s in a marvellous spot, on the best street. I’ll be back! Ursula Beatt

Pietrasanta is a lovely Tuscan town that more people should know about, and the hotel puts you within easy walking distance of just about everything. The piazza, with its striking sculptures in local marble, is perfect for an evening stroll, and there are cafes and places for cocktails nearby. The train station is close as well. At the hotel, breakfast is imaginative and delicious, and the service is quietly impeccable. The owner’s contemporary art collection gives the place a cultured feel. Even in the busy summer season, it’s a calm little oasis of old Europe. If you fancy a swim or luxury shopping in trendy Forte Dei Marmi, bikes are available for the easy ride along a safe, well-used path under shady trees.

The staff really go above and beyond, and breakfast is a delicious feast. The hotel itself is beautiful. If you’re lucky enough to visit Pietrasanta, this is a must-stay.
