Pieve di Cadore is a pretty village with plenty of restaurants and a couple of small supermarkets. There are hiking trails in the surrounding forests, and bus stops right by Hotel al Pelmo, including the 30 service to Cortina, which takes about 50 minutes. I stayed for four weeks during the Winter Olympics and found the hotel charming, with a compact but cosy room. Gildo, Ivana, Francesca, Martina, and Nicola were all fantastic, friendly, attentive, and helpful. Breakfast is continental with plenty to choose from. I also ate dinner at the restaurant a few times, simple food but tasty. I thoroughly recommend staying here if you visit Cadore.

Francesca, Martina, Nicolo, and Olga made Hotel al Pelmo feel like home during nearly three weeks of my work trip. The staff are really friendly and go the extra mile. Rooms are modest but comfortable, and the food is tasty, reasonably priced, and changes every day. I’d recommend booking here if you need somewhere to stay in the area. Grazie Mille.

Breakfast was excellent, and the staff made us feel welcome. The rooms were comfortable, the hotel was very clean, and the mountain views were lovely. A cosy base for exploring the Dolomite, highly recommended!

The location is nice, with the central lake within walking distance. I loved the sweet, charming hotel and its family-run feel. They went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable and happy, even offering to turn on the spa while they were busy. The wellness center costs 25 euro to use, so I passed, though that may be worth it for some.

Breakfast was very minimal, and the coffee and juices were disgusting. The price is far too high for a place that could never be a three-star hotel. It wasn’t clean, and nothing looked like the pictures online. The hotel is extremely old, with horrible rooms that seem uncared for. There was construction outside, so the windows were covered. Thank goodness we only stayed one night.
