Claudia was a fantastic hostess and really accommodating. It’s a peaceful hotel, and she was willing to drop us off in Monterosso Al Mare for walks and pick us up afterwards. There’s a beautiful restaurant next door serving the best Italian food. Highly recommend staying here.

I’d strongly advise against staying here. We booked two nights through Booking.com after seeing what looked like decent reviews. Looking more closely at the negative reviews now, I see others have had a similar experience. The owner agreed to a 7 PM check-in, confirmed it in the Booking.com chat, then charged us a “late check-in fee.” We were given the keys to Room 1 and told the official check-in with passports would happen the next morning because reception was closed. We didn’t think that could be used against us, but be aware that this is against Italian law. As soon as we entered, there was a strong moldy smell and the sheets felt damp. We opened the windows to air out the room and went to dinner at the restaurant next door, which, to be fair, was quite good. The smell was still there when we got back. We then found water dripping from the bathroom ceiling, clearly a leak, and it looked like they’d tried to cover it with paint. We were exhausted and tried to rest, but within 30 minutes my partner and I both had shortness of breath and chest pain. We tried calling the owner and contacting her through Booking.com, but got no reply. Worried about our health, we had no choice but to leave that night. We both felt light-headed from what we believe was mold exposure. We never heard back from the owner while we were trying to find a solution. Five days later, she told Booking.com, falsely, that we never showed up, and charged both a “no show” fee and the original late check-in fee. She said that because she didn’t have copies of our passports, we hadn’t been there. Like, what?! She is scamming and committing fraud. Luckily, we have photos and timestamps showing we were there, and the lady is even in one of them, which we find ironic. This was truly unacceptable. I rarely leave reviews, but people need to know that this place, at least Room 1, isn’t safe, and the business practices are completely dishonest.

The shuttle to Monterosso al Mare was a real plus, just €2.50 per person each way. We stayed two nights in September 24 and loved the quiet green setting. The house name really suits it. Our room was comfortable and clean, and breakfast had lots of choice. Dinner at the Puin restaurant next door was excellent, though it was closed Tuesday, so we only ate there once. Sound carries a bit, and other guests could sometimes be annoying. Thanks to Claudia for hosting and especially Gaia for the Italian lessons 😉 and great service ❣

We cut our stay short because the damp air and musty smell were hard to put up with. There were leaks in the ceiling, and it looked like they’d been covered over instead of fixed. The bed sagged in the middle from a broken spring, so it wasn’t comfortable either. Getting there means taking a narrow, winding road that may be difficult for some. The room was clean, the owner friendly, and there’s a great restaurant next door, though it can be noisy.
