It felt like a lot of the little things had been overlooked. Several items were broken or didn't work right, including the shower head, and the apartment floor was dirty. Mosquitoes were everywhere, even inside the room. The kitchen only had a stove, no oven or microwave. Breakfast was basic and nothing special. Disappointing.

The setting is beautiful and quiet, with lovely natural surroundings, and the pool was cleaned every day. There aren't many people around, so you get some privacy as you walk around. The staff leave you to your own space and make it feel like home. The older owner greeted me with a big smile and gave me fresh apricots. The location is fantastic for visiting nearby places of interest, including the necropolis and acropolis, populonia, and the beautiful port city of piombino. There are lots of beaches that allow pets, where you can let them run free, as well as forest parks and some larger towns a few kilometers away. You can also ride the well cared for horses for a reasonable price. I expected a room, but got a small apartment with a bedroom, kitchen, and a very large fridge. It was clean, and the doors and windows had protection against bugs and other things. The WiFi didn't reach perfectly everywhere, but the area is quite big, and I didn't mind. It even helped me disconnect a bit from city life. Breakfast was fine, with lots of fresh cakes. I loved my choice to visit GLI Etrushi and the surrounding area. Just note that many nearby markets and stores close for a break from around 13.00 until, in some cases, 17.30.

The grounds are really large, with a playground, soccer pitch, and pool for kids, though the pool wasn't open in April. Our kids also really enjoyed seeing the farm animals. We were almost the only guests, but felt very welcome, and check-in was easy. The apartment was clean and tidy. The kitchen appliances were a little old but worked okay. We were tired and only stayed one day, so the comfortable beds suited us well. Prices were very reasonable off season. The breakfast buffet could have been better, though. We'd be happy to return.
