EXCELSIOR

The apartment itself was a highlight: new, beautifully kept, and furnished with comfort in mind. The beds and mattresses were wonderful, the linens felt top quality, and there was hot water whenever we needed it. The sunny room had a cheerful view over Piombino, and the thoughtful details and well-planned furniture made the place comfortable and easy to use. We found it a lovely option for a visit of a day or several, whether traveling as a family, couple, with friends, or on your own. Grazie Mille! A few practical things are useful to know. Parking isn’t allowed right in front of the Excelsior apartment, so plan where to unload your bags and then move the car promptly. You’ll need a space on a nearby street or in a city lot. Blue marked spaces are paid, while white ones are free. Breakfast is a voucher for a nearby café, where you can get a hot drink and a sweet treat. Knowing these details ahead of time would have helped us, and they made the visit easier. Congratulations to the administrators!

Right in the center, with welcoming hospitality and free Wi-Fi. Don’t expect luxury, but nearly all the simple essentials are there. I’d go for one of the apartments on the second floor.

A very good apartment!

We arrived around 9:00 PM with our small child, who needed dinner, and ended up searching for another hotel late at night. Luckily, we found one, but the evening was already ruined and our son was hungry and exhausted from travelling. The reason we had to leave was the broken air conditioning. It was stiflingly hot, and after several attempts we finally reached a manager, who just said, “There's nothing we can do.” They offered no other room or solution, and seemed completely uninterested in helping with even a basic problem. We'd booked one night here and expected at least some reliability and assistance. Hospitality means being able to help when something goes wrong, not just handing over a room. I wouldn't recommend this place.
