Antica Dimora Gallo Basteris

The hosts went out of their way to help, and they even had plenty of gluten-free choices ready for me at breakfast without any advance notice. The rooms are full of character, spectacular, and completely unique. One of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed in. We’d LOVE to come back someday.

The pool and garden were lovely, peaceful places to unwind, and the hotel is right in the town center, close to good wine areas like barolo. We slept very comfortably, surrounded by beautiful decor and exquisitely painted ceilings. Breakfast had pastries, small cakes, cheese, yoghurt, fresh fruit, and a delicious cappuccino. I’d rate the room 5/5 if the bathroom weren’t right by the entrance. When someone was using it, nobody could come in or leave without going through the bathroom. Just a small gripe, though, and we had a wonderful stay.

So spacious and extremely comfortable, with everything feeling brand new. One of the most beautiful hotel rooms I’ve ever stayed in.

Valter is incredibly welcoming and helpful, and breakfast was plentiful, delicious, and full of local products, with both sweet and savory choices. Antica Dimora Gallo Basteris sits right in the square of Piozzo, a small Langhe village that feels less touristy. It’s a period property in a completely and expertly renovated old building, with four charming rooms. Some have frescoed ceilings. A real gem in the heart of the Langhe.
