B&B La Stella

Three stars feels fair. It’s quiet inside, though you can hear people coming and going, conversations, alarms, and showers as if they were in your own room. The room and bed were fine, and it was a decent size. The shower doors were awkward to close because they meet at a corner, and the toilet drain was backing up a bit when we first arrived. The outside shutters have a mechanism that felt a little industrial. The area was fine, and being near the station was handy. The Leaning Tower is about a 25-minute walk away.

No breakfast, but a couple of good bakeries nearby made up for that. The place is modern, clean, and easy, with a great spot near Central Stazion. You can walk to both the Tower of Pisa and the airport. The hosts left us welcome beer, juice, and water, plus a 10% discount at some restaurants. There’s also a hand bidet in the toilet, if that matters to you. Nothing out of the ordinary, but I’d recommend staying here.

The room was just right, and the staff were incredibly nice. We found complimentary cold drinks waiting in the room after our trip, which every hotel and B&B should do. It’s only three minutes from the train station.

The area around the hotel can have some interesting characters, so I wouldn’t want to walk around there late at night. That may come with being just two minutes from the train station, though, and the station gives you quick links to lots of places, including Cinque Terre. Inside, everything is new, clean, and tidy. There’s antibacterial gel at the entrance, a fridge, air conditioning that works perfectly, and a really good shower.
