The pillows were lumpy, the bedside table tilted so badly that things slid off, and the supposed double bed was just two singles pushed together with no topper, leaving an uncomfortable gap. The room also had several basic problems: the shower was dirty and its lower fitting didn't work, the kettle was broken, one bedside lamp didn't work, and the toilet roll holder was broken. Cleanliness was a serious issue. Both mugs were filthy, the remote felt dusty and sticky, there was no bottled water in the room, and the foyer's communal toilet had urine on the floor. We couldn't get a table at our preferred time even though the restaurant was empty. When we told reception, nobody apologized. They said it was our fault for not reporting everything immediately. I can't believe this place is advertised as a five-star hotel. The stay fell far short of what I expected from one.

The rooftop bar is nice, and there's a swimming pool too, though the pools close for winter. The beach is only a few steps away, and breakfast has a wide selection with pretty much everything available. Our room was very spacious, clean, and comfortable, and it stayed warm in winter. The four-bed family room is on the ground floor, with a small garden, but it faces the road. The hotel itself is modern.

There's a lot of space to park, with room for a bus in front of the hotel and across the street. The building looks nice from outside, and the rooms are large, but they don't have amenities. Around the hotel feels deserted, with nothing available until a place about 2 km away. Breakfast was mediocre, nowhere near what I'd expect from a four-star hotel.

We had a good stay overall, despite a few little flaws that were a bit annoying. The hotel aims for a stylish look and is beautifully set right across from the beach. There are two nice pools, including a spectacular one on the rooftop.

The pool area is lovely, and our room was okay, but the service wasn't brilliant. Breakfast had plenty of choice, though it felt chaotic and we waited ages for coffee. Based on our own experience, I'd put this at three or four stars, not five.
