Hotel Maria

We paid full hotel rates but ended up in what felt like a self-managed rental, with fewer amenities and no clear explanation in advance. We booked Hotel Maria and stayed there in October 2025. On arrival, we were sent to an offsite Airbnb-style apartment instead of the hotel room shown on the website. It felt misleading, and the place didn't feel safe. The lights went out while we were showering, and we had to use a lot of dark stairs, which was frightening. When we asked to be moved back to the hotel, one male staff member was rude. The next morning, when we were finally transferred, he carried one of our bags only halfway up the stairs and left it there, clearly displeased. It was also apparent that our original room had gone to a local guest. The manager agreed to move us the next day only after we insisted. The lack of transparency and professionalism was seriously disappointing. I wouldn't recommend Hotel Maria. If you book, get written confirmation that you'll be staying in the hotel itself, not an offsite apartment.

The garden was a nice spot for breakfast, and the hotel is close to the train station and the train from Pisa airport. Our room was clean and had a balcony. The staff were friendly too. Yes, I'd stay here again.

We only had one night before flying home, but I'd happily recommend this hotel. It's very close to Pisa centrale train station and the shopping area, and the reception staff welcomed us warmly. They let us check in early, which we really appreciated. Our room was spacious and very clean, and we were lucky to have two balconies.

The room and bed were clean and comfortable, and the wifi was fast. The hotel itself is beautiful, and the front desk staff were incredibly kind and helpful. The location worked perfectly for us, right across from the train station and an easy walk to shopping and the sights across the river. It's close to the station and some cafes, so you may hear noise outside. That's part of staying in the main city. If you need total quiet, you'd be better off outside the city. For the price, this hotel was perfect.
