B&B Retrò

The inside is nicely done in a sort of imagined Victorian style. The building itself is old and needs a lot of repairs, though. The proprietress manages the place well without being there in person. “Retro” really is the best description for this quaint B&B.

We’ve used it for a quick overnight stay a couple of times in recent years while travelling from Pisa. The location works well and the price is very reasonable. Just right for a short stop.

The bedding didn’t seem clean, and there was an unpleasant smell in the room. Anyone sensitive to smells might find that a major problem. The windows also let in a lot of noise, which could be a dealbreaker. On the plus side, the staff were so friendly and welcoming, and took time to explain everything. The B&B is well placed, just a five-minute walk from the Pisa Tower, and breakfast was good.

The room was very clean, and the bed, though a little lumpy, was still easy enough to sleep on. The host was incredibly friendly and accommodating. We could leave our luggage, and she even called a taxi for us. I’d come back and would recommend it.
