Hotel Moderno

The staff were amazing, always smiling and super helpful. Check-in was smooth, and they let us store our luggage after checkout since our flight wasn't until later. That welcome makes a big difference when you're arriving in a new city. It's officially a 2-star hotel, but I'd rate it 4. The room was really clean, and I'd recommend choosing the en-suite bathroom. You can't take your key outside. You leave it at the 24/7 desk and pick it up when you come back, which worked fine for us. Noise is the main downside. The walls are paper-thin, so you can hear guests, hallway sounds, and traffic from cars and motorbikes. I'm a heavy sleeper, so it didn't bother me much, but light sleepers might find it annoying. Breakfast was underwhelming, just toast, jam, butter, and coffee, though the coffee was really good and made on a proper barista machine. It's clean, cheap, and reliable, and hard to beat for the price.

The staff were super friendly, the location was good, and our room was clean. We stayed two nights, and they cleaned it and changed the towels each day. Breakfast was simple but enough to eat: toast with butter and cheese, coffee, flakes, and yoghurt. Please keep in mind that the railway station noise is part of the location. The staff do their job very well and can't do anything about it. There is no elevator either. It would be great to have a few hooks in the bedroom for hanging towels.

The owner pointed us to a nearby place to eat, and the food was the best. Breakfast was nice too, with amazing coffee and tea, which earned an extra star from me. We also loved having their dog around. The family-run hotel has a homely feel. It’s clean and basic, and the bed was super comfortable. Just be aware there are stairs, so it won’t suit you if you can’t manage them. The tower is about half an hour away. We had a lovely night here.

The couple who run the place are lovely. They even helped us get a room after midnight on a holiday weekend and shared great tips for exploring the city. It’s only a few minutes from the train station, and a light breakfast with fresh coffee is included. Our simple room had a small balcony, a bathroom, and AC, all for a great price. It’s an older building, though, so the walls are thin and mornings can get very noisy.
