Agriturismo Barbicaio

We were two couples, each with a child, and Molino di Nelle was wonderful for us. Even small pets are welcome. The mill sits in lovely green surroundings beside a sparkling clean stream, and the house is spotless, well cared for, and has everything you need. The owners are incredibly kind and happy to help with whatever comes up. We found the value for money hard to beat, and we’ll certainly return. Thanks, and keep up the great work!

Over the past few years I’ve stayed several times at three of Barbicaio’s four locations. The people running them have always made me feel very welcome. Each place is beautiful, surrounded by greenery and nature, with well-equipped spaces that show how much care goes into hosting. I’ve been able to enjoy the quiet there with my pets, without disturbance.

I stayed at Il Picchio from September 1st to 5th, and it’s a place I left my heart in. It’s close to Pistoia, which makes it handy for visiting the city, while Florence and Lucca are about an hour away for a wider trip around Tuscany. There’s such peace and quiet, with nature all around. An unforgettable stay, highly recommended!

We spent a fantastic week in the hills above Pistoia. The view from the panoramic pool is remarkable, and Agriturismo Barbiciaio is surrounded by nature, so it’s wonderfully peaceful after days out visiting Pistoia, Siena, Florence, Pisa, Lucca, and other places. We were two families and had a cottage each. Both were well equipped for sharing meals and evenings. Sandro and his family are charming hosts who clearly enjoy having guests. They’re discreet but easy to reach, and gave us great information about things to do, sights to see, and restaurants. We’re delighted with the holiday and will certainly return.
