The food was incredible, with great ingredients cooked simply and paired with delicate sauces. Several dishes had Japanese touches. The wines were just as impressive, both in quality and selection. They poured by the glass using CORAVIN, so there was no noticeable damage to the wine. We had some wild pours, like Trebbiano of Valentini, Italy's best white wine, which is impossible to find in Japan and sells for over $200, and Barolo of Voerzio, another famous wine that goes for more than $250. They offered these for around 20 euros a glass! The restaurant is in a really inconvenient spot, but it's worth travelling from anywhere in the world for. One of the best in Italy, and I could see it getting three stars in the near future. The chef apparently worked at the three-star "Piazza Duomo," which I visited, then returned to his hometown to open his own place and earned one star just a year later. The prices are also reasonable, though I hope they don't go up too much.

The lovely staff were both kind and professional. Eating at Il povero diavolo felt dreamy from start to finish, with wonderful food and beautiful surroundings. I also loved that the room wasn't packed with tables, so there was space to enjoy the decor and take in the atmosphere.

This is a very good osteria out in the Romagna countryside. The chef clearly cares about the cooking, and the tasty dishes make good use of local ingredients. The restaurant also has a nice, relaxed atmosphere, with a comfortable fireplace.

The largest set menu, ¨9 +¨, has nine courses plus appetizers and a predessert, and costs 95 euro. The menu keeps changing because of the chef's nonstop creativity. For top-notch cuisine, I think the value for money is among the best right now, and the chef is absolutely one of Italy's best.

We loved every part of it, from the fantastic food and service to the cooking lesson we took through Esperienza.
