Marinagri Resort

The air conditioning didn't work in any of the rooms, and hotel staff controlled the temperature. That made no difference, since it still never worked. They don't serve lunch or dinner, just crisps and sandwiches. We were also given a taxi price and travel time to the airport, but when it was time to leave, two cabs showed up asking for twice the price. The way the hotel handled that was the worst hospitality experience I've had. They blamed us instead of apologizing for their mistake, couldn't find a solution when we asked, and we ended up paying double and nearly missing our flight. This hotel doesn't deserve its stars, the service is horrible, and I'd never stay again or recommend it to anyone.

The suite had lots of space, a sea view, a Jacuzzi tub for two, and the superior package was great. The pool area was nice, though service there was limited. There are few services available much of the time once you leave your room. Meals are buffets for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and food seemed to run out. Don't order a cocktail before dinner unless you can wait 20 minutes. The lounge was open, but the lights were off and there was no barman. Staff were nice, especially in the well-equipped spa, though it was a little pricey. The hotel is way out of town, in the middle of nowhere.

The location is very good, the rooms are good, and the front desk service was good too. But the buffet breakfast and dinner were terrible, with cold food and very slow service. It didn't represent Italian food at all. The internet only worked for four hours during our three-day stay.

The beach and water were nice, and the food was very tasty. Each evening there was a special event, like a cook making mozzarella or a big pan of mussels. The animation was sometimes irritating, though: it was only in Italian, and the staff played very loud techno music on the beach for two or three hours. The rooms were clean and satisfying, with views of the sea or pool, but the mattresses were very uncomfortable. The resort feels unfinished after construction apparently stopped because of money problems. It seems to have once been meant as a luxury resort with its own yacht port, and we arrived to find the area very isolated and deserted. You can go there without concerns if you want to relax for a few days somewhere quiet and out of the way. It's hard for me to decide how to rate Hotel Marinagri.
