CEra Una Volta Apartments

The room was mediocre, very easy to hear through the walls, and had no balcony, despite the description. We couldn't cancel, and the price didn't feel fair for what we got. This was the biggest letdown of our two and a half week trip around Italy, and it made it hard to enjoy the stay. We thought we'd booked an apartment with a terrace because Booking.com showed sea-view terrace photos. Looking again, we saw a note saying that not every apartment has a terrace. We asked three days before arrival if ours had one, but only got the answer after we arrived: no. Marco was nice, but we wish he'd communicated this sooner. We felt misled and can't recommend the accommodation. I also want to add that when we checked Booking.com later, even in September it wasn't hard to find cheaper parking, possibly free, than the option Marco had told us about.

We already miss Polignano and its beautiful village. Our apartment was right in the historic center, charming and comfortable, with everything we needed. Marco helped us so much when we arrived late because of a train delay. He and the apartment both deserve top marks.

Marco was kind, and the location is ideal. I visit Polignano a Mare regularly with my family because it's such a beautiful place, but this apartment was far too small for four adults. We stayed four nights in a room smaller than a double, with no living area and nowhere to put luggage, so we had to open suitcases on the floor. The kitchenette was a decent size, and the listing does explain the lack of a terrace, but that doesn't make up for the cramped space. The stairs are tiny, no more than 60 cm wide, and the shared landing with another apartment is about 60 x 60 cm. I work in real estate, so I have good reason to ask who approves a property like this for four guests. They supplied one set of towels each for all four nights, which meant using the same ones after daily showers. Luckily, we'd brought our own. The apartment might be just right for a couple, but no more.

Marco, the owner, was such a kind and helpful person. We got a perfect apartment that looked just like the photos, right in the middle of town. I'd happily recommend it for a stay in Polignano a Mare. Ten out of ten!
