We had a wonderful time in this lovely little mountain town, enjoying the place and its residents. The house on Via Roma in Polizzi Generosa is spacious, with big bedrooms, sitting rooms, and kitchens stocked with everything except food. Upstairs there's a TV room, another sitting area, and books about Sicily and the Madonie mountains. The veranda is great for eating outside, soaking up the sun, or taking in the view of town and the mountains. Shops, pasticherias, convenience stores, and a farmacia are just outside or nearby.

Maria and Giuseppe, the local managers, were incredibly helpful. They guided us through the language, customs, and area, and were always a phone call away. We were a group of 12 and took both available apartments. The former palace has been restored in a grand but tasteful style, with Sicilian antiques alongside modern touches and every amenity you'd want. Each room seemed more spectacular than the last, and almost every one had a balcony looking out over the glorious Madonie Mountains. There's also a rooftop terrace. Cheese, olives, bread, and wine were waiting to welcome us. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again, and we're already planning future visits.

This historic residence in Polizzi has been beautifully renovated by architect Claudia Buccellato. It's in the heart of Sicily, with the elegant, modern interiors you'd expect in a European capital.
