Hotel Palma

The rooftop terrace looks out towards Mount Vesuvius, and they serve Aperitivo with Tagliere up there. There’s also a comfortable shared sitting space for relaxing or reading, plus a bar and TV area. Our room was bright, clean, and updated, and the staff were lovely and helpful. We had a wonderful stay. The ruins are around a 10-minute walk away, with plenty of restaurants nearby. I’d stay again and recommend it to friends and family.

The location made this hotel worthwhile, with shops, places to eat, and transport all within walking distance. It’s an old place that could use some updating. Staff were friendly and helped when we needed it. Our room was a little small but okay, with comfortable beds and an adequate bathroom. Breakfast was inconsistent, with little choice, very diluted juice, and coffee that was always cold.

The room renovation gives the place a fairly upscale feel, and the rooftop has seating, views, and a smoking area. The English speaking reception staff handled check-in well. So far, it’s been quite nice. The hot tub wasn’t open in May. I’ll add breakfast thoughts tomorrow.

The roof terrace was a highlight, with a jacuzzi, sun loungers, and tables and chairs. There isn’t a bar up there, but that was fine since a cheap supermarket is just across the road. Breakfast was good, though I’d have liked the bacon crispier. It’s a small family run hotel in a great spot in Pompei, with clean, nicely sized rooms and very helpful staff. The ruins and the railway station for Naples and Herculaneum are both a short walk away. I’d stay here again if I return to Pompei.
