Cala di Volpe

Every part of Cala di Volpe felt five-star, from the careful attention to detail and flawless service to the outstanding food and perfectly made drinks. I’d gladly return without hesitation.

We visited once for dinner and another time for drinks. The food was good, and the dinner was really nice. Staff were welcoming and attentive, and valet parking was a nice extra. The whole property looks amazing and is very well maintained. Just keep in mind it’s heavily overpriced.

The grounds are expansive, and the staff seem kind wherever you go. I loved the huge breakfast spread, especially all the cheeses and meats, and the fruit was ripe and delicious. The rooms look beautiful, the beds are comfortable, and the linens feel top quality. This is easily one of the five best hotels I’ve stayed in. I’d happily spend a few weeks here.

We came from our boat for an aperitif, and the manager was attentive at first. Service seemed good until the bill arrived: 720, even though each of us had only had one or two drinks. We asked about it and were told there was a 120-per-person charge listed on the menu, but nobody had mentioned it to us or checked whether we wanted more drinks to meet a minimum spend. When we raised that, the manager turned confrontational and said he didn’t care what we thought and that we had to pay 120 each. It felt like a total scam.
