The room was pleasant and really well equipped for the price, and the location is perfect, with restaurants just a minute away. Breakfast was incredible. I can only recommend it, and we’ll be happy to come back.

It’s a bit worn, with a broken heater and bathroom light, plus a shower with only lukewarm water and low pressure. Still, it’s very good value for money, with a nice host and great location. There was an old piano in our room. It has a bit of a grandma’s-house feel.

The room was a good size, the receptionist was pleasant, and parking nearby was easy. There are plenty of good restaurants within walking distance. But we got no Wi-Fi information, there was virtually no water in the room before 08:30, there was no plug for the sink or bidet, and we were overcharged.

We stayed at Affittacamere la Giara in Porto Empedocle in June 2019. The rooms were renovated and very clean, and the owner was very helpful, sorting out an issue with our car rental. It’s close to Scala dei Turchi and the Temples in Agrigento, about 10 minutes by car, with lots of good restaurants nearby. You need a car to get to a nice beach.
