Hotel Carlo V

We liked our stay a lot. The staff were so friendly, and they met us around 8 pm to show us the room and give us a breakfast certificate for a nearby cafe. Breakfast was great, especially the croissant, and it was lovely and inexpensive. I recommend it!

The host kept our passports for the whole day, saying the internet was down, and there was no private parking despite it being promised. Breakfast was poor, and the experience felt creepy. It was very expensive for the quality of the hotel and service, so I wouldn’t recommend it. The town has nothing to offer, either. The hotel itself is quite old but had been renovated recently. Our room was dark, with old-style furniture, though it was clean and well looked after. Towels, bath gel and shampoo were provided.

Great hosts, a good location, and private parking.

Breakfast is at the Cotti al Forno bar across the street, with plenty of quality choices, and the hotel is good value for money. It’s in central Porto Empedocle near the port, with free parking in front that makes it easy to explore on foot. The clean, welcoming room was spacious, with comfortable beds and pillows, a bidet, and all the essentials. There’s also a nice internal elevator. No mini-fridge in the room, though. The staff were friendly and helpful. Recommended, and we’ll definitely return, especially because Porto Empedocle deserves it.
