Villa Lamaia

The sea views from every room are fantastic, and the sunsets are breathtaking. The huge terrace is a real highlight, though it has no railing and isn’t suitable for small children. You can walk to the beaches, but getting across the private property takes good balance. We visited Biodola beach, and it’s worth checking the tunnel’s opening times. The smaller tunnel is a favorite with yacht owners walking their dogs. Our three-star rating comes down to cleanliness: we had to do a fair amount of tidying ourselves, and we were glad we’d brought our own pillows as well as the bed linen. The furnishings are generally good, and the kitchen has what you need apart from a decent frying pan. The stove, dishwasher, and cabinets are quite worn. There are two refrigerators, though, one in the kitchen and another with a freezer compartment in the storage room. The access road is about a kilometer of gravel and was manageable in a regular car. The last hairpin is tight, and depending on your approach you may have to reverse, especially in something like a Ford Ranger. We stayed at Villa Lamaia in August 2019, and despite the cleanliness issues, we’d definitely spend another holiday here.
