The rooms were full of insects, but staff blamed me, saying I’d brought food into the room. I cancelled my stay and was first told I’d get my money back. When I returned the next day, they said the refund depended on the director, who apparently has no phone number or email and wasn’t available. No one was willing to help. Eventually I was told my opinion didn’t matter to them anyway. I paid 200€ for a night I didn’t spend there. The hotel was described as having four stars and a private beach, but the beach is public and far from the property. The restaurant wasn’t operating, so dinner meant a 35-minute walk into town, and there was only pool service. None of this was explained on the site before booking. I don’t recommend it.

We got lucky choosing this place. The nearby beach was so busy that we ended up spending all 10 days relaxing at the hotel instead. There’s a large pool with plenty of seating, a well-kept garden, and lovely space inside and out, all with a great view. The service was great too. In the evenings we went into the center of Portoscuso to eat and walk around, and we took the ferry to visit the surrounding islands. A beautiful place, highly recommended.

The location is great, but the website gave us the wrong impression. There’s no spa or wellness center available, no dinner service, and although they say the bar is open all the time, it closes at 9. We weren’t told any of that until we arrived. The hotel feels about 20 years out of date and certainly isn’t four star. The website’s false claims made us feel scammed. Is that even legal? I wouldn’t stay here.
