Alcione Residence

The view from our room was impeccable, but there wasn't much else that made the stay feel special for such an important occasion. We were there for our honeymoon and fourth anniversary, and had a beautiful terrace where we'd hoped to share breakfast and enjoy the view. Instead, we were told they don't serve breakfast, even though reviews on Google and other forums, their website listings, and highlighted reviews on the site all say they do. I don't know whether they were just telling us that, or if breakfast has stopped permanently or at certain times of year. Nothing on the website explains a change. We were very disappointed and confused, and would rather have stayed somewhere else. We're pretty reasonable guests.

After a rough day getting there, having such a friendly, helpful and welcoming hostess felt like a lifeline. The staff at Alcione were wonderful, thank you so much. Our room had a private balcony and 180 degree water views, right in the center of Positano, for less than $400 per night. Amazing.

We stayed two nights and liked having a proper hotel with a reception, not an Airbnb. There are lots of eateries and restaurants close by, and the spacious room had a huge terrace with an incredible view. It was all clean and well maintained. Martina, if I'm remembering right, was very friendly and welcoming at reception. There are quite a few stairs, but they arranged for a porter to take our large luggage up to the room. A perfect stay.

The views from the rooms are incredible, and Alcione residence is ideally placed in Positano, on the street with most of the good restaurants. The beach isn't far on foot, so there aren't too many steps. Whenever I needed something, staff responded right away. They even contacted a restaurant for us when I needed help arranging a pickup.
