Hotel Vittoria

The included breakfast was quite good, and the staff were welcoming and helpful. Our Double Room was a good size, though its city view was mostly hillside, and some of it wasn’t very pretty. Our travel mates had an ocean view and a large patio, which seems worth the upgrade if you plan to spend time in your room. It’s a beautiful spot in Positano, but be aware there are stairs everywhere if you have mobility issues. The lift only takes you partway to the beach, where a path leads to the Positano dock, and there are also stairs up to the main road. The associated restaurant down the hill was quite good and gives hotel guests a 10% discount, if you remember to ask.

The porters work hard carrying luggage up and down the cobbled steps, since transport drops guests off on the road above the hotel. The location is ideal for shops and restaurants along the way to the beach. Breakfast was a delight, with plenty to choose from, including hot food and pastries. It’s a beautiful traditional hotel, and our room was spacious enough for three adults. All the staff were friendly and helpful. I’d recommend it to friends and stay again if I return to Positano.

My sister and I stayed at hotel vittoria in positano from aug 14- Aug 19, and we both felt very safe, which was our top priority since we don’t know Italy. The hotel is charming, and the staff were fabulous. The guys serving breakfast made great coffee and greeted us every morning with top tier service. The hotel also arranged a ride for us when we left, which worked perfectly. I only realized after arriving that my good friend Claire had stayed there the week before. When I come back to positano, this will be my go to hotel!

The front desk woman was rude and aggressive. I called for specific directions because the hotel is hard to reach, with hills and stairs along the way. She sounded annoyed explaining the route, then complained to another employee in Italian about having to explain the location when I arrived. She also got angry when a friend met me and we spent time by the beach club. She kept staring and whispering about us. Her reactions whenever I ordered room service were angry too. I don’t know what her problem was, but her behavior felt strange and unwelcoming, and made the stay unpleasant. It was 90° and the air conditioning barely cooled the rooms to 85°. I won’t return and don’t recommend it. Avoid at all costs.
