Villa Principe Giovanni

The balcony views were breathtaking, breakfast each morning was lovely, and the front desk staff were really nice and helpful. We even made friends with some of the local cats lounging around. My wife and I spent six nights here for our Positano honeymoon and loved the experience. We booked through Hotel Conca D’Oro, just around the corner and up a few flights of stairs. We've been in Rome for a few days now, and my wife is still talking about this hotel. We'd love to stay again.

We got lost trying to find the hotel, so our hosts came out and guided us back. They were wonderfully helpful and attentive to detail. Thoroughly recommend.

After a few minutes alone in the room, we realized it wasn't what we'd expected. We were in room 603: it was small, and the terrace, boxed in by four walls, had no view. There were mouse droppings all over it and it smelled of cat pee. We shared photos and video of the droppings. The hotel's reply on hotel.com never addressed those concerns, focusing instead on the fact we'd booked the cheapest room. That response came from a passive-aggressive staff member on hotel.con after we shared our disappointment there. Floriana checked us in and explained things nicely, but pushed quite hard to sell us breakfast and dinner, which made us not want to eat there. The WiFi never really worked either. I'd be extremely careful about staying here.

It was an okay place, but the view wasn't as nice as the one described on booking. A light outside the house stayed on all night, drawing some teenagers who chatted there until late. It was very hard to find, and we had to call someone from the hotel to come pick us up.
