Hotel Trento

The location worked well for getting around to ski, and parking was good. The walk into town was easy too. Staff were generally pretty good, but didn’t know the area very well. The owners were around and ignored guests, though, and I think they need to improve things and invest more. The place could be really good. For the New Year prices we paid, it didn’t feel like value for money. There was no evening food or extra entertainment on New Year’s Eve. The pool was okay, but the sauna needs better care. Rooms could use a kettle and more sockets, and road noise needs better soundproofing.

We were really disappointed. At €440 a night for a three-bed room during the holiday season, I expected a ready-to-use hotel, not somewhere still in progress. The prices were high for an old hotel in a less convenient spot for the ski slopes, and the services didn’t match. Compared with the booking.com reviews and photos, there was no restaurant, the gym had been shut down, and there were no signs to help find the facilities. Staff couldn’t sort out our requested hotel delivery for ski passes and sent us to the wrong pickup point. They also gave us incorrect information about the skibus. The room cleaners spoke neither Italian nor English. The beds had no sheets, just duvets, and there was no shower mat. The management seems to have changed recently. Gutted.

There’s a good restaurant menu, and the staff are happy to answer questions about the food. The bar has a big choice of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, and the bartenders welcome suggestions. The rooms are large, with spacious bedrooms, and there’s private parking. There’s also a pool, sauna, fitness room, and a playroom for kids.

Had a very good four-night stay. The staff were lovely, and everything was clean and comfortable. The bedroom was big, with a really nice shower.
