The spa is spacious and high quality, with generous areas to unwind, a massage room, and an outdoor thermal pool. The hotel is elegant and comfortable, with refined interiors and everything kept impeccably clean. Its location works well for downhill and cross-country skiing, or simply hiking in the mountains. There’s large free outdoor parking, and the cross-country trails, spa, and shopping area are all within walking distance. A shuttle also runs to the Buffaure cable car. Breakfast is excellent and plentiful. Dinner is refined, on par with great restaurants, and the atmosphere feels very convivial thanks to the staff’s friendliness and courtesy. Bref, an unforgettable experience!
The room was spacious, the beds were comfortable, and everything was clean. Breakfast was a favorite too, with fresh fruit, croissants, eggs, and a juicer for smoothies. We also used the sauna almost every day and enjoyed the pool. My fiancé and I came for a two-week ski trip, our first time in the Dolomites. We were taken with the hotel from check-in, starting with the charm and welcoming manner of the people who run Rene and all the little touches. Most of all, the staff were amazing. We can’t wait to come back.
We spent a wonderful week here at the start of January. The staff were kind, friendly, and real professionals. After skiing, the generous spa had everything we needed to recover, and at après ski we were greeted with plates of delicious cakes. Breakfast was rich and tasty, and dinner was a proper gourmet feast. Our room had recently been renovated and was comfortable too. Ideal for a ski holiday, I highly recommend it!
The food is superb, and the spa is luxurious and well laid out. The steam room gets properly hot, and the water beds are so relaxing. Staff couldn’t have been more accommodating, and they took our food requirements seriously, really trying to understand what we wanted. If you’re weighing half board, I’d go for it. Breakfast and dinner are both excellent quality, with impressive variety. I’ve never had food or service like that in another half-board setup. It’s not ski-in, ski-out, but the location is convenient. The hotel runs a regular, easy-to-use minibus, and the large ski bus is easy to catch too, about a five-minute walk away. I actually prefer being here to staying closer to the slopes because it’s quieter and more relaxing, while still handy for everything. There’s a nice lounge seating area around a little fireplace for après-ski brandies. Honestly, this is probably the best ski hotel I’ve stayed in, with amazing staff and services. We’ll definitely return. To the hotel staff, we want to thank you for everything, especially for putting up with my terrible Italian. Hope to see you soon! Thank you!!
The food was fine, but nothing special, and the hotel is definitely overpriced. The spa is good, though after 5 p.m. it gets so crowded that it feels like you have to choose between skiing and going there. A spa visit after a day on the slopes sounds perfect, but it wasn’t really possible while staying at Hotel Rene. Evenings were dull too. There was no music in the bar or at dinner, which felt more like eating in a school cafeteria than a restaurant. The reception staff seemed stressed whenever we asked for something, as if we were bothering them. They weren’t even polite, let alone smiling. I only saw them be polite to older guests. The hotel seems to have hardly any idea about hospitality or customer service. We were there in February 2019. The girl giving massages in the spa was also working in the bar in the evenings, and our room cleaner was a restaurant waiter. It really made the understaffing obvious. I wouldn’t choose one of the most expensive rooms, the wooden one, unless you’re fine with almost no daylight. It’s very spacious but completely dark and not cozy. The hotel is boring in the evenings.
