Hotel Gli Dei

The rooms are clean, the staff are friendly, and the food was decent, neither the best nor the worst. The beds are normal European style. During our stay, though, the hotel hosted parties every night and during the day. We couldn’t use the pool, which was the only thing for kids to do there, and extremely loud music kept us up late. In the evenings we had to walk through the parties just to get to our room, which was very uncomfortable. Ask before booking whether there’ll be parties and if you’ll be able to use the pool.

The view was stunning at every hour, breakfast was great, and some staff really went out of their way to help. But over our two weeks, the rooms and parts of the hotel often seemed quite dirty. The restaurant menu barely changed, so we had to go into town for other food options. Check the bill carefully at checkout: the restaurant had added charges we couldn't account for, and the hotel tried to charge us another 150 euros for cleaning after our room hadn't been cleaned by the housekeeper.

The hotel sits high on a hill, with a wonderful panorama over the bay and the nearby cities. It works well for meetings or receptions, and is also a lovely place for a vacation.

The views are beautiful, and the staff were friendly with amazing service. The location is a little out of the way. That wouldn't have mattered as much if there were more hotel pickup options for excursions and tours.
