The room was clean, and breakfast was nice and served at a good time, though there wasn’t much choice. That’s about it for the positives. I’d avoid this place like the plague. We had a terrible experience at the hotel restaurant next door for dinner. The service was awful, and they made us feel unwelcome. This really isn’t a four-star hotel. It’s poorly signposted, so you can’t find it from the road. Once there, the smell of sewage hits you as you get out of the car. Our room looked onto a wall, and we couldn’t sit outside because of the smell and mosquitoes. The shower was bad, and the curtain kept sticking to me. Mosquitoes got into the room even with the doors shut; we kept finding dead ones in the bath in the morning. A notice said we weren’t allowed to use the fridge, or “mini bar,” for our own drinks. We did anyway, because that’s a ridiculous rule. You can’t take your room key with you when you go out, a first for me. There’s nowhere nearby to walk to or do anything, it feels like an industrial estate.

The staff helped me plan day trips, and nothing was too much trouble. I’d definitely recommend this hotel. I was very impressed. It sits between Naples and Pozzuoli, with a bus stop right outside and a connection to the trains at Campi flegrei. I usually walked, since there’s a lot to see. You can also see volcanic fumerals from the hotel. My room was clean and tastefully decorated, with no clashing bright colors, and a wonderful big balcony. There’s a beautiful marble staircase, too. The staff were friendly and helpful, and they catered for special needs if necessary. I’ve included photos of the delicious food from their sister hotel next door. Best hotel I’ve ever stayed in.

The room was massive, which was great, and the staff were good. Getting to central Naples or even Campi Flegrei station is close enough, but expensive by taxi.

The hotel’s location is inconvenient, since you always need a car to get around. The rooms are good, but the beds are really uncomfortable. Breakfast was great, and reception gave us very useful suggestions.
