Villa Avellino

The staff were the saving grace here. They did everything they could to help despite the state of the property, and their attitude brought my rating up from a 1 to a 3. If they’d been negative, I’d probably have rated the place below zero. Whether it suits you depends on how you plan to use the room, but I think it needs a lot of work before it reaches an acceptable standard. Getting into my room took more than 30 minutes because the lock wasn’t working properly and clearly needed replacing. The rooms have potential and a quaint feel, but need an overhaul and maintenance. The sockets, the in-room hairdryer, and the setup of two twin beds pushed together to make a queen bed were all out of order for a place that could be top of the line if looked after. The walls are scuffed up from past guests, and it’s a real eyesore. The furniture is worn and dirty too. First impressions on entering the building were that it looked dirty and weathered. For what they charge, the rest feels too much like a roadside motel, although the hot water and air conditioning were excellent, as were the cotton linens. Location is the strong point. If you’re lucky enough to get a sea-view room, the outlook is fantastic. There’s gated parking right beside the hotel, which makes packing and unpacking the car easier on a longer stay. You can walk to the old city and the path along the sea, and there are a few supermarkets and restaurants fairly close by.

I’ve been to Hotel Avellino for several events, though I haven’t stayed overnight. Both the indoor and outdoor event spaces are beautiful. The building looks lovely, and everything inside and out feels elegant. The views over the water are beautiful too. The food has always been excellent and presented perfectly, and the waitstaff are attentive to every detail.

My original hotel canceled my reservation, so I ended up here and was pleasantly surprised by how nice the staff and people were. The property is part of the city and has a beautiful park on site. The staff did so much to make my stay enjoyable. I’d highly recommend it to anyone staying longer than one night.

We had a lovely room with a large rooftop balcony and a beautiful view. There’s free private parking, and plenty of shops and restaurants are an easy walk away.
