Le Arcate

I can't speak for everyone, but I found the experience pretty disappointing. At a tourist destination, I don't understand how a restaurant can operate without English-speaking waiters. The man taking our order couldn't tell us whether the quattro formaggi pizza came with tomato sauce, and another waiter we called over couldn't understand that we wanted the bill. Unbelievable. My husband ordered a 4 Formaggi pizza, which was okay, nothing special but nothing bad either. I had the 'Menu Mare', and that was a letdown. The first course was a lot of orecchiette with a little tomato sauce and just hints of swordfish. The next dish was meant to be baby squids with vegetables, but the squid had no taste and hadn't been cleaned properly. The vegetables were frozen carrots and beans. The menu said the coperta was included, at least as I understood it, but we were charged for it anyway. They also didn't bring the water that was supposed to be included. It was a bad experience for me, and I definitely wouldn't go back.

Our last night in Praia A Mare, and our first visit to this restaurant turned out to be the best meal of our whole stay. The fish was fresh, service excellent, and prices fair. Great!
