Hotel Piccolo Sant'Andrea

The breakfast team and bartender were the one bright spot. They were gracious, friendly, and helpful. Otherwise, this was easily the most overpriced hotel we’ve ever stayed at. At over $900 a night, it became my least favorite hotel stay ever. We felt stranded in the middle of nowhere. It was nearly impossible to get an Uber, and taxis were out of the question. Anyone who’s driven the Amalfi Coast knows how risky that road feels, so we didn’t want to drive at night. Getting to dinner reservations meant working around the hotel’s limited shuttle service, or paying 50€ each way for a trip of about 3 miles. Yes, really. The front desk wasn’t helpful on several occasions when we tried to arrange rides or dinner reservations. Our room smelled of mildew. The bathroom had only a tub and a handheld shower, with no glass at all. The shower head was at tub height, so using it soaked the bathroom floor. I’m used to European bathrooms, but every other one I’ve encountered had at least a half-glass screen and a handheld unit mounted higher on the wall.

Getting between Praiano and Positano was easy thanks to the hourly shuttle to both towns. The setting is fantastic, with amazing views, and every staff member we met was friendly and professional. Highly recommend!

We spent plenty of time at the hotel enjoying the quiet and those stunning views, even though we also explored the area. We wanted a relaxing break as a couple after a family holiday in Greece, and it was exactly what we hoped for. It seemed mostly couples stayed there, though we did see families with older children. The pool isn't huge, but it's a nice size, there were enough loungers, and towels, drinks and lunch were available there too. The hotel is in a lovely spot for getting to Positano and Praiano, as well as Amalfi and Ravello. We rented a Vespa for 24 hours and had a great time riding to Amalfi. The roads were busy with scooters, but the views were incredible. There's also a shuttle to Positano and Praiano, which we used every day. Our room was spacious and lovely, with a terrace looking out to sea. We both liked the outdoor shower, despite seeing a negative review about it beforehand. The bed was firm but really comfortable, and we slept well. Breakfast had a good range of choices, served on the terrace with delightful views. We had a couple of lunches, poolside snacks and dinner at the restaurant, and the food was delicious every time, cooked just right. The staff made the stay especially memorable. From arranging a wine tour to mixing evening cocktails the way we liked them, they were welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. On our first night, we met Placido, who set up a cooking class in the hotel kitchen with Pietro the chef. We made stuffed courgette flowers, gnocchi and ravioli from scratch. Placido took photos and videos while Italian-themed music played, and we had so much fun with everyone. The hotel is beautifully situated, and the service was wonderful from the moment we arrived until it was time to go home. We would definitely return. I couldn't fault it.

The concierge pointed us toward a nearby beach, and there was also a shuttle to Praiano. We had a lovely dinner with a beautiful view. At check-in, the front desk patiently showed us three available rooms and shared useful information while we chose. During our three-night stay, the whole staff, including the front desk, were charming and helpful. I'd gladly recommend the place and come back if I'm in the area. Thanks for a lovely stay.
