The memory foam bed isn’t really my thing, but the room was wonderful and I came away with a positive impression.

The room was roomy, and the bathroom felt comfortable and brand new after a full renovation. It’s also very handy for the station, just a few minutes away on foot. Above all, the staff were professional and kind. I left my phone charger behind, and they sent it to my home without charging postage.

The location near Piazza San Marco is central, and the friendly, professional staff at Hotel San Marco handle both check-in and check-out. The room was spacious, but I wouldn’t choose this place again. There was a lasting musty smell, and sunlight came in each morning because the roller shutter didn’t work and there were no heavy curtains. The bed bases were just iron frames and made sleeping difficult. Some electrical outlets were taped over, and brickwork was left exposed.

There are vending machines for hot drinks and for cold drinks and snacks on the floor. The spacious rooms have a safe, hairdryer, bath and bed linens, TV, and minibar. The property is an annex to Hotel San Marco, about 30 metres away, which makes check-in and check-out convenient. Paid indoor parking costs €10 a day, and breakfast at Hotel San Marco is €5 per person. Rooms are on the second and third floors, and there’s no elevator.
