Crescenzo

This review is for the restaurant. It was busy, but we got a table at one of the few places open on Wednesday. The tuna was delicious, and it was nice to finally get a proper salad instead of just lettuce and tomato. The wine was good, cold, and reasonably priced. There’s a lovely atmosphere, with lots of returning customers who seem to work on or own boats. A great place to eat. I tried prawn carpaccio for the first time. The pink pepper gave it a lovely zing, and the flavor was nice, but the texture was strange to me. I couldn’t eat it without the rice and left half. That was just a texture issue for me, not a problem with the flavors.

I wouldn’t choose this place when there are better options in Chiaiolella. My steak was edible, but chewy and not especially tasty. The fresella was hard to manage and had no seasoning, so we had to ask for olive oil, salt, and oregano to give it some flavor. Average at best.

We showed up without a booking and they still found us a table. The pasta with white ragù, tuna tartare, and swordfish pasta were all excellent. Our waitress was really nice and spoke English very well, which made things even better. And the three cute cats added to the charm. A lovely meal.

Had a fantastic lunch. Excellent food, beautiful setting. 10/10
