Helios Beach Hotel

The hotel is well placed for both Cervia and Milano Marittima. Breakfast is served on the first floor, with a fairly generous selection of sweet and savory choices, and there’s also a play area for children. The rooms have the comforts needed for a short stay, and both cleanliness and maintenance get attention. The lobby and outdoor gazebo areas have comfortable sofas and different places to sit while waiting or relaxing. The spaces were renovated in 2024.

We were very happy with what we paid for the stay. Marco’s dinners were delicious and came in generous portions, and breakfast had a good variety every day. The beach is only a few steps away, and the staff were warm and always ready to help. We’d gladly come back.

The location and breakfast were the best parts of our stay. The price felt high for the quality, and I’d only suggest staying one night if you don’t have high expectations. The hotel could use renovation, and the cleaning seemed superficial: cobwebs were left in several corners, and the soap dispenser was empty and dry. The staff tried, but the lack of experience was noticeable from arrival. At breakfast nobody spoke to us or could explain what was available. We also couldn’t tell whether water was included in the room, since there was no price list.

Dinner was good quality, with a varied vegetable buffet, two cold first courses, and one hot first and second course. We stayed half board. Breakfast was even more impressive, with fresh fruit smoothies, seeds, plant-based drinks, and lots of savory options like stuffed focaccia and pizza. There were choices for vegans and people with intolerances, and it went well beyond what I’d expect from a three-star hotel. The location is another strong point, and the staff are helpful and make you feel at home. Great value for money. A new discovery for us, and a place we’ll measure others against.
