Hotel Mocambo

The car park is very narrow, and the rooms need renovating. This place is overrated.

My partner and I spent a week here and, despite what we'd read in the reviews, had a different experience. Our room was spotless when we arrived and stayed that way each morning, with clean towels and toilet paper always provided. The air conditioning worked quietly the whole time. The location is handy, close to both the sea and the city center. The front desk is at the hotel next door, which is practically attached, and that kept us from giving more stars. The property isn't especially modern, but it's good value for the money. Staff were always super friendly, and breakfast had plenty of sweet and savory options. We'd recommend it to anyone who isn't after luxury.

The only good thing was the location. The service was terrible, the cleanliness even worse, and the staff were rude. I stayed four days on vacation with friends. We had two double rooms, but for the last night they planned to move all of us into a quadruple room. On arrival, my pillowcase was stained and the room was dusty. Our towels weren't changed, so two days later we went down to ask for some. They only handed them over at 7 p.m. We ran out of toilet paper, and although the cleaners came in, the room was left just as we'd left it and they didn't bring any paper. For the last night, our two friends needed pillow covers in the quadruple room. We asked twice, but nobody brought them. At 7 p.m. we went down again, and they gave us the covers to put on ourselves. When we got back at 2 a.m., one bed had no sheets or bedspread. We went downstairs to report it, and they moved us into the double room we'd stayed in before. It hadn't been cleaned at all. After we got home from this awful hotel and experience, my friend and I found bedbug bites on our legs. Truly awful, a hotel worth reporting!
