Summer Paradise

The room had a classic, romantic feel, and its window looked onto the private garden. The garden was meticulously kept, with a view of the island’s lighthouse that took our breath away each morning. Everything in the room was clean. The fridge was stocked with yogurt, fresh fruit, wine, water, non-alcoholic aperitifs and other breakfast snacks, and there was a coffee maker, toaster and kettle too. After our first night, they left us a little gift of "le lingue di Procida", the local puff pastry and cream dessert. On the morning we left, there was a bottle of water to replace the one we’d found in the fridge when we arrived. We also really appreciated being able to park our scooter a few steps from the room. It’s the easiest and quickest way to get around the island. We arrived in Procida early with our backpacks and asked Alessandra if we could leave our bags and return for check-in. She kindly agreed, then let us into the room a full three hours early because the previous guests had checked out ahead of time. That was already five-star service, and the nice surprises kept coming. A heartfelt hello as well to Alessandra’s mother, whose name I can’t remember. She made us feel the warm, maternal presence of Campania and its love for people. We’ll come back to Procida and stay with Alessandra and her mother again. To these two wonderful women, we’re sorry we didn’t say goodbye. We weren’t sure if we’d be in the way, but I hope this message makes up for it. Summer Paradise is exactly the right name. For us, it’ll always be Procida’s Heaven ❤️
