The one snag was that I couldn't pay by credit card. Otherwise, the owners were kind, helpful, and discreet, and breakfast was plentiful and tailored to us. The property is beautiful and welcoming, in a quiet spot that's handy for excursions. It was clean too, and deserves five stars.

The common room has a beautiful panorama, and I don't dispute the view, but the rooms are another matter. The booking photos didn't show carpeting, and the furnishings felt haphazard, like using whatever was left over at home. The owner was gruff, though helpful. Locking the room with a 100 lire coin is comical, but reopening it with the coin is the real problem. We spent 15 minutes trying when we came back that evening and nearly woke the neighbors.

The room was lovely, comfortable, and very clean. The staff were kind and courteous. I recommend it and will definitely return.
