The building’s style and history were a nice extra, and the hotel itself had everything we wanted: a great location, newly renovated clean rooms, comfortable bed and linens, strong air conditioning, and attentive staff. Rosella, Michele, and Josephine were incredibly kind. Breakfast really showed their care. It was locally sourced, thoughtfully prepared, and delicious. Don’t miss the lemon almond cookies! I only wish we could have stayed longer than one night. I hope to return and see Josephine again over breakfast.

The staff were the best part of our stay, friendly and helpful throughout. When my wife became very ill with E coli food poisoning, likely from contaminated lettuce at a restaurant in town, they treated us with real kindness. It was an unquestionably excellent establishment, so I can only assume the supplies were contaminated. I don’t know for sure, though. She was extremely sick and took about two weeks to recover, well after we’d left. The staff offered to bring me a glass of wine to have with the dinner I brought back to our room. If you have to be sick in a hotel bed, this was a good place to be. They also patiently helped me with parking advice and the two tickets I’d stupidly picked up. Thanks to the manager, who is also the owner, and all the staff. We stayed three nights in early September, and the hotel was our favorite so far after nearly two months in Sicily. We’d even pick it over the stellar, much more expensive Villa Athena hotel in Agrigento. Our room was right beside the sitting room with its incredible ceiling frescoes, and our own ceiling was gorgeous too. A lovely balcony opened onto the Duomo piazza, a perfect location. The hotel has a fun, beautiful mix of traditional and modern art. Breakfast was the best we’d had on the trip.

The staff were fantastic, and breakfast was excellent and served at the table. This small hotel overlooking the town piazza is a gem. Every room and shared space feels carefully considered and lovingly decorated. All very impressive!

The staff were wonderfully welcoming and helpful, and the service felt like an extension of the young owner, who is a lawyer. We’re especially grateful to her and Roselle for making our Sicily trip so memorable. This was our favorite of seven hotels during a month in Italy. The hotel is a beautifully and elegantly restored palazzo, and the oldest building in Ragusa Ibla. Right by Ragusa Ibla Duomo, the location was perfect. Our room was spacious, clean, and spotless, everything worked, and breakfast came with high-quality ingredients and attentive service.

I travel all over the world and generally prefer smaller hotels. This one just fell short on a few levels. There was an issue with the parking I was scolded by one of the staff - "you need to learn to drive in Italy!" That was rich, I live and drive in NYC! I recommend finding another stay in Ragusa.
