Il Fornacino

We spent four nights cooking in the very unique kitchen, unwinding by the fire, and lounging at the enormous pool. Benedetta was accommodating and helpful the whole time, and we couldn’t have been happier with the villa. It’s bigger than it looks in the photos, with lots of room for a large group to relax. There’s easy access off the highway, though it can be a little noisy out front in the morning. The quaint little town of Armaiolo is nice to walk around, and there are plenty of places to eat nearby. One tip: don’t follow Apple maps onto the farm road for the back way in, like we did 🫠. Such a beautiful place to stay while visiting Tuscany, and the stay was really memorable.

The owners were very kind and helpful. It’s a typical renovated Tuscan house with four rooms, a kitchen, and a swimming pool. Each room has its own bathroom. A good base for visiting the Sienna area.

Bernadetta was a lovely host, always kind and ready to help. The old historic house feels welcoming, the garden is green and well kept, and all the comfortable bedrooms have en suite bathrooms. We had a wonderful stay in Armaiolo, and the clean, well-maintained pool was great for relaxing on hot days. There’s a large, secure garage that keeps the car out of the strong sun. The access road is narrow, so be careful if you’re driving a large car. One drawback: without air conditioning, the bedrooms can get uncomfortable on hot days.

The large, well-maintained pool was a highlight, and the owner gave us a very warm welcome. She comes by regularly to check it, but the rest of the time we had complete privacy. There’s room for up to eight people, and each Tuscan-style room has a modern bathroom. It’s an incredibly beautiful old house in a stunning setting, well-equipped and leaving nothing to be desired.
