Hotel La Perla

The reception staff were pleasant, but there was no contact during the week. The restaurant and bar staff were arrogant, pompous jerks, and the atmosphere and attitude were a disgrace. The food was ridiculous, with stingy portions. Breakfast was the same every day for a week: poor-quality sausages and cold cuts, and scrambled eggs only made on request if they had run out. The cheapest ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise ran out after three days, and they said there was no more. Instead of Nutella, they served the cheapest Nutoka cream, a huge disappointment for children in Italy. There’s a sewer smell throughout the hotel, worst in the stairwell, and it got into our clothes. The fourth-floor rooms smell especially bad, with used, dirty, smelly carpet inside and out. Our room was dark, and its tiny balcony faced a chimney, so smoke came in when we tried to air it out. The bathroom was moldy, and there was a dirty, unusable sunken bathtub in the room. There was only enough closet space for one person to unpack. The restaurant chair covers were dirty too. NEVER AGAIN LA PERLA. It doesn’t deserve a single star.

The reception staff were helpful with everything, including suggestions for walks and things to do. We had two stylish, quiet superior rooms on the top floor with great views, for a week in August with our two teenage boys and dog. After a day of hiking, we loved coming back to the swimming pool. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was amazing, though the place could use a bit more atmosphere. We had a great stay in Ravascletto.

The staff were always polite and ready to help, and we had a lovely time in the wellness area. Breakfast and dinner were very tasty. Hotel La Perla gave us the stay we’d hoped for, about 150 meters from the main Gondola of Mont Zoncholan. There’s plenty of parking around, and the hotel has its own parking too.

The room was clean and well kept, at a comfortable temperature, and housekeeping was amazing. After a full day snowboarding, I liked being able to relax in the spa, especially the Turkish bath and jacuzzi. Breakfast was fine, though it could have used fresh fruit and vegetables; the croissants were absolutely delicious. Most of the staff were super friendly and helpful. One waiter, though, was rude and disrespectful. We greeted him multiple times and he never even said hello. He kept rushing us to choose all our meals at once so he could move on, and wore a grumpy expression until the manager came around. Then he suddenly turned cheerful, acted like everyone was his best buddy, and even patted us on the shoulder. It was bizarre. I’d have given five stars without that experience. The hotel lives up to its four-star rating, and seems like a great choice for a winter ski holiday.
