We loved eating breakfast on the terrace and looking out over the ocean. The views are incredible, and the rooms were very clean and comfortable, with A/C that worked really well. The staff were friendly and helpful. We picked this as a cute, inexpensive place with parking, and it was fantastic value for the Amalfi Coast. Bring a small rental car, though, because the parking lot is a squeeze.

The Gala Residence team gave us a taste of southern Italian hospitality that I won't forget, and I hope we can return. They arranged all our transportation and set up a boat tour for us, which ended up being the highlight of the trip. We arrived much later than expected, but the woman checking us in was so kind and patient. She even walked us the ten minutes into town to find food, phoned ahead to check the kitchen could make something, and stayed to help with a few other things. Breakfast was amazing too. Sitting on the terrace at sunrise with delicious espresso and fresh baked treats felt surreal. Our room was pristine, the bed comfortable, and the view epic. The hotel is an easy walk to the town centre, with stairs, as you'd expect on the Almafi coast. Choosing Ravello was the best call of our long Europe trip. The town was breathtaking, with a fun, charming centre, and didn't have the cruise ship crowding we saw in other seaside areas.

From Gala Residence Villa Giovanna, it’s just steps up to the main piazza, and the views are gorgeous. Breakfast had a big menu to choose from. Our room was well fitted, with aicon and good linen.

Breakfast was good, the bed was very comfortable, and the staff were friendly. The rooms were spotless, cleaning was excellent, and free parking was useful since we had a car. But the pool was the reason I booked, after seeing it in the Google photos and listed among the main amenities on Google Maps. There isn’t a pool at the property. The one next door charges €25 per person per day, which became an expensive surprise for our group. There were lots of bees there, and around the terrace in the photos, so we couldn’t really enjoy either. Getting to the village means climbing about 200 steep steps. We were out of breath and it’s the sort of walk you’d only want to do once a day, if you’re in good shape. Our room had no window, and the Wi-Fi was poor. Arriving after 7:00 PM also meant a €20 late check-in charge, an unusually early cutoff that didn’t feel guest-friendly. For a double room and two nights, we paid €503, plus €100 for pool access and €20 for late check-in, €623 total. Too expensive given the distance from Ravello downtown.
