The hotel is close to Ravenna's major sights. San Vitale is an easy 10-minute walk, and the Basillica of San Aplinare is just down the street. I stayed the night before my cruise left from Ravenna and thought the hotel was fantastic. It's in a lovely old building, with clean rooms and great service. Breakfast was European style, so there were no scrambled eggs, but they had smoked salmon, good bread, delicious tarts, and a wonderful variety of fruit. The lobby also had really tasty candies and chocolates.

Our room was noisy because it faced the front of the hotel, which is why I can't give it five stars. Still, the building is spacious and low rise, full of character, and has been modernised sensitively. It's a really lovely hotel, a short walk from the train station and within easy walking distance of the monuments and buildings people come to see.

Room 6 had the painted ceiling we chose, and it was comfortable and spacious. There was a big piece missing from the cracked floor between the shower room and bedroom. Even so, the price was very reasonable, breakfast was fantastic, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was excellent.
